“…to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.” Ephesians 4:12 & 13 (TLB)
The purpose of School of Equipping and Training (SET) is to teach the Word of God, nurture and disciple new believers, encourage and enhance the continuous spiritual growth of believers through the systematic teaching of the Word, as well as prepare and equip believers for effective ministry in the Lord. SET adopts a tri-semester system, similar to the school terms, starting in January and ending in mid-November. Three foundation classes and one main elective class are conducted on a regular basis every semester. Other elective classes on various aspects of church life and ministries (e.g. evangelism, family life, managing finances, etc.) are also conducted. The foundation classes are repeated every semester. However, the topics for the elective classes may change each semester. Seminars are also conducted to enhance members’ understanding of the Word of God and expose them to certain important ministries not found in the Church. Bible scholars and other ministers are invited to share their areas of expertise in these seminars.

Basic Christian Doctrines
Doctrines are teachings relating to the truth about God which are essential to build a strong biblical foundation in believers. For far too long, Christians think that doctrines are impractical, stodgy and relatively useless. We cannot obediently hear God speaking if we turn away from His doctrines. Doctrines must be taught in order to fill our lives with stability and grace. The doctrines of the gospel are meant to mould us so our lives begin to ‘set’ in the likeness of Christ.
Topics:
  • God the Father
  • God the Son
  • God the Holy Spirit
  • Nature of Mankind
  • Resurrection
  • Jesus’ Return (His Second Coming)
  • The Church

The Book of Deuteronomy “Not By Bread Alone” (Sunday)
Deuteronomy is a book fraught with implications on what it means to be a people of God. A people set apart unto God who have been entrusted with the knowledge of the one true God and who are called to live out that knowledge in the ‘sight of the nations’ or people around us. It also has much to teach us about how to live out our faith in the context of the ambient cultural idolatries of our age.Deuteronomy also lays the foundation that will prepare us, as it did for Israel, to experience God’s promises and the ‘promised land’ places that God has prepared for us in the face of the many giants challenges in the future that is before us.

Mission Track

180 Degrees (Thursday) Family Wellness Track We live in imperfect world with an imperfect life. But it is these imperfections that the grace of God is sufficient for us to make us strong and victorious. However, it requires our willingness to face our pretenses – acknowledging and accepting our weakness and it limits, and seeking God’s strengths and grace for a breaktrough in our imperfections. In doing so, we create a greater intimacy with God and with others. Topic Covered

  • 16 Jul – Quit over-functioning: Honor boundaries and limits
  • 20 Aug – Quit blaming: Taking responsibility

“Missions used to be incomprehensible and paralyzing. How can I a mere individual fulfill the Great Commission when knowledge, resources and skills are so limited in me? Through this course I now know how I can participate in being part of mission, without stress and intimidations. The course has benefited me as a person, transformed my life and gave me the right perspective towards what kind of life I should be living.” Lim Tong Jen 2013. It’s not merely a class about Missions….It’s about YOUR Mission, and how you will best be equipped fore the challenges in the future that is before us.Teachers: Pr. Lee Hock Cheng & team Authentic Christian Living – 8 Things to Embrace to Change Your Life (Saturday) Rejuvenate Your Relationship With God, Others And Self (Sunday) More often than not Christian maturity is thought only in terms of the degree of commitment to, and competency in the spiritual disciplines. Christian maturity and wholeness is the biblical integration of the body, mind, soul and spirit. This course equips you with biblical tools and practical skills that may bridge life experiences with the understanding of scriptures. This experiential learning will transform your relationship with God, others and self.Teachers: Dr. Yeoh Pei Li & Family Life counselling team
