Our History

1979

FGA KL launched in the home of Dr & Mrs Koh Eng Kiat in Section 17; about 40 people.

The Chinese Church, Youth Church, Finance Department, Ladies’ Fellowship and School of Christian Education & Training were formed in FGA.

1980

FGA moves to Section 19, Petaling Jaya.

1981

FGA relocates to former Hotel Majestic.

Home Fellowships and Publications Department were formed in FGA.

1982

Missions Department, FGA Library, Hospitality Department, Christian Care Centre were formed.

1983

Children’s Church, Administration Department, FGA Productions, Music & Worship Department, Ushers’ Department, and Communion Department were formed.

1984

FGA moves to Taman Goodwood.

Maintenance Department was formed in FGA.

1985

Bahasa Malaysia Service was formed.

1986

Tertiary Students’ Fellowship, Beautification Department, Security Department were formed.

1988

Filipino Service, Pastoral Department, Golden Years’ Fellowship, Mechanical & Electrical Department, Little Lambs Home were formed.

1989

Tamil Church, Bartimaeus Fellowship & Sign of Love were formed.

1990

FGA Raub/Sg Ruan and FGA Sg Besar were planted as outreaches

Royal Priesthood Bible College and Prison Ministry were formed

1991

Dorcas Fellowship was formed.

1992

EDP was formed.

1993

Peacehaven campsite was opened.

1994

FGA Hutan Melintang (Chinese) and FGA Selayang were formed.

1995

Young Adults Fellowship was formed.

Launching of the Antioch Church Vision.

1996

FGA Cheras (Chinese), FGA Jinjang, FGA USJ were formed.

FGA Cambodia Child Care Centre was started.

1997

FGA Sg. Buloh and FGA Cheras were started.

Wisma FGA Ground Breaking.

1998

FGA Petaling Jaya (Chinese) and FGA Wangsa Permai were started.

1999

FGA Serdang and FGA Rawang were formed.

Performing Arts Deparment and Community Development Services were formed.

2002

FGA Kajang, FGA Kota Damansara and FGA USJ were planted.

Wisma FGA was opened.

2004

Ladies Fellowship was renamed as Women’s Ministry, and Ministry of The Elderly was formed.

The Chinese Youth Fellowship that was renamed as Chinese Youth Church.

Celebrated FGA’s 25th Anniversary

2005

Dr Ng Soon Gan was appointed as the 3rd Elder of the church.

FGA held a Global Children’s Ministry Summit, a worship conference.

2006

FGA Setapak (Chinese) was planted.

FGA Sports Fellowship was formed.

Chairman Albert Foo Min Chay migrated, appointed Brother Wong Ah Chiew as Chairman of the Chinese Church and Brother Robert Cheah Boey as Deputy Chairman.

2007

One of our Founding Fathers, Elder Koh Eng Kiat went home to be with the Lord.

New appointments of church elders – Bro. Khoo Kay Hup, Bro. Wong Ah Chiew, Bro. Dorai Manikam, and Bro. Liew Hoi Foo.

2008

FGA Healing Rally with Pastor William Lau.

2009

Family Life Ministry was formed.

2010

Peacehaven was launched as the Nation’s Prayer Mountain.

2011

The church held its first ever family conference, and had the Sentul Park Easter Sunday Service.

Bro. Leong Chik Kee, Bro. Saw Lip Hean, Bro. Ho Kien Keong, and Bro. Robert Cheah Boey appointed as FGA Elders.

2012

The church had an “Effective Prayer Movement” with Pastor Julius Suubi.

The Chinese Church combined FGA KL and FGA Cheras to become one ‘regional church’.

2013

Generations Ministry was launched.

The church had a session “Growing in Grace” by Philip Yancey.

The Chinese Church had their Easter evangelistic service, also a carnival at Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil.

2014

FGA held a conference “ARISE: Go, Give, Love” which happened for 3 days.

Elder Leong Chik Kee retired.

2015

FGA celebrated its 36th Anniversary at Putra Indoor Stadium.

2016

The era of the founding fathers came to and end as Elder Ang Chui Lai went home to be with the Lord.

FGA CYC started collaborating with FGA KL (PJ) and FGA KL (Kepong), under the leadership of the Chinese Church to move together as one.

Who are our Founders?

The late Dr Koh Eng Kiat and Bro Ang Chui Lai, co-founded FGA together. They poured their entire lives into this work that God had called them to do.
